Ashwin Varma
Founder Chief Executive Officer Clear Lake High School, 2015 Ashwin conceptualized the original idea for IntronaHealth after he experienced frustration with the method in which hospitals dealt with patients during an injury. This led him to build a platform aimed at better understanding the business of health. Previously, he managed a team of 12 students to win a $10,000 grant from the Lemelson-MIT Inventeam Foundation to create a Mobile Medical Unit for field surgery in countries that lack medical infrastructure and presented at MIT in 2012. He has also performed and won multiple awards for peer-reviewed research in Cancer Genome Profiling, Bacterial Sepsis, Tissue Engineering, and Neonatal Pediatrics, at MD Anderson Cancer Center and the University of Texas Medical Branch. He is a three-time (2012-2014) Siemens Science Competition National Semifinalist and the winner of the 2014 Science and Engineering Fair of Houston in Medicine and Health. Ashwin is the Vice-President and Captain of the CLHS Debate Team, winning both the 2014 5A UIL Texas State Debate Tournament, and was awarded Tenth Overall Individual Performer award at the 2014 National Speech and Debate Association National Tournament in Kansas City. |
